24-month progress monitoring meeting of the large project “Social, political and economic opportunities and challenges of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) for Thai and Southeast Asian society” led by Professor Dr. Yos Santisombat

On October 7-8, 2023 at Eastin Tan Hotel, Chiang Mai, the research project on China-cross-border railways: a comparative study of the impacts of railway construction projects on communities around major stations in Thailand and Laos, by Asst. Prof. Phanitda Saiyoras, presented the project progress and (draft) research article "Between the (Un)connected Tracks: Unravelling China's Railway Imprint on Laos and Thailand" at the 24-month research project progress monitoring meeting under the theme "Social, Political and Economic Opportunities and Challenges of China's Belt and Road Initiative toward Thailand and Southeast Asia" Fourth Progressive Workshop, which was funded by the Human Resource Development and Higher Education Institution Development Fund, Research and Innovation Management Unit (NRC).
The China-Cross Border Railway Research Project is carried out under the major project “Social, Political and Economic Opportunities and Challenges of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) for Thai and Southeast Asian Societies” led by Professor Dr. Yos Santisombat.
This conference was held to present research and exchange academic knowledge. Researchers in the project presented their research both locally and internationally, including Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Chinh, Prof. Dr. LIU Hong, Prof. Dr. Danny WONG Tze Ken, Prof. Dr. Pinkaew Laungaramsri, Asst. Prof. Dr. Satian Chunta, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ta-Wei (David) Chu, Lecturer Panitda Saiyarod, Asst. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kengkij Kitirianglarp.
and there are qualified persons who give advice on research such as Asst.Prof. Morragotwong Phumplab, Asst.Prof. Dr. Lee Kian Cheng, Asst.
